Bike Setup Introduction

Scott mulling over what to do with his Formby dollars!!Scott mulling over what to do with his Formby dollars!!

Here's some thoughts on what we've discovered over the last few years with RC bikes and how to make them work well for my own ham-fisted thumbs  :D. They may be of use to any Newbies or recent converts to bikes! Feel free to add any gems of your own...

Thanks to most of the crew since '96, with apologies to anyone who's snippets are included here but I've missed from this list: Colin, Jimbo, Andy C, Steve L, Mario, Matt, Roki, Gerald, Symon, Snooey, Dougal, JV, Clarky, Dez Chand...

Cotswold Pre-Season Testing Meeting

As a bit of fun before the season finally gets underway the guys at the Cotswold club kindly laid on timed practice for the day which enabled us to do some fine tuning of our setups. A big thank you to Fred and Neil for all their work. I've included a couple of the setup listings below, from Simon and myself. Roger will be sending his over shortly. Should give you KP12 runners a bit of starting point.

Roger's Setup

Front Forks Rear Shock Droop Steering Springs Headstock Speedo Motor Tyres
30wt, new forks
Revo 30wt, yellow spring ?mm Hard, 35mm length Long type
LRP SXX V2
LRP X20 8.5T
PMT200 slicks F/R, hard inserts

Was also using LRP 6200 lipo pack. Roger did set a lap time of 23.6, which matches the fastest lap of last years GP. That was set with a KP11 that had been run and set up over a season, so results look promising.

Simon's Setup
